A Comprehensive Overview of the Motorcycle Theory & Practical Test
Note to clients: On your site, it indicates that the minimum age for riding a moped is 17 but the government sets it at 16.]
Additional Things You Need to Know
It is imperative to note that CBT training does not come with a test thus you should not feel anxious about it. Ideally, it is aimed to make you relax and enjoy the training since that is the most suitable way to learn even when it is against your motive. No one will put pressure on you to progress to the next stage until you feel ready enough.
Motorcycle Theory & Practical Test
Once your trainer is contented that you can operate your motorcycle competently and safely, you will be given your DL196 Certificate or CBT Certificate. You will thus be able to proceed with the training to get a full motorcycle licence in class you want from the four major categories. To acquire a license in any of these categories, you need to get a provisional motorcycle or moped licence and then sit for theory and practical exam. The test is usually taken in between one to four days of training. The theory exam comprises a multiple-choice test that you sit for at the DSA centre that is closest to you.
You may be looking forward to knowing how much it may cost you. The cost will be determined by the level of training you want as some want more training than the rest. The overall cost ranges from £200 to train for one day and £750 for 4 days of training.
The motorcycle licence comes in four categories and the accelerated access
Moped licence. You must be at least 17 years to qualify for a moped licence. A moped is a motorcycle whose engine capacity does not exceed 50cc and a maximum speed of around 31mph. you need to perform well in the theory exam before commencing your training and then sit for a practical exam at the DSA test centre. You can then ride a moped that does not have L-plates and transfer a pillion passage.
Light motorcycle licence (A1). You need to be with your CBT and be17 or above to obtain A1 licence. Unless you have a moped licence already, you need to obtain your provisional licence and sit for your theory test. Once you are done with your training, you will need to undertake a practical exam on a bike with engine capacity ranging between 75cc and 125cc. once you pass the test, you can then ride a motorcycle with up to 125cc or 11Kw as well as carry a pillion passenger.
Standard motorcycle licence (A2 — restricted). You will need a standard motorcycle licence if you like riding a bike that is a bit bigger. If your age is between 17-20 years, you ought to go for the A2 (restricted) licence. You need to have the CBT licence and if you have not passed the moped exam, you must acquire the provisional motorcycle licence. You can then undertake the training of your choice to pass the practical test. You will need to have a bike with engine capacity ranging between 120cc to 125cc with the capability of at least 100kph.
Once you perform well in this, you can operate a motorcycle without the L-plates and transfer a passenger. However, for two years, you will be limited to a bike with a maximum output of 25kW or 33bhp or optimum power-to-weight ratio of about 0.16Kw/KG. The good news is you can then ride any type of a bike that you come across without any additional training once the two years are over.
Accelerated Access. You have the option of the accelerated access if you reach 21 years when you are still within the two years under restriction. This gives you the chance to sit for a practical test on a bike with 35Kw OR 47bhp power output. If you pass the test, you will have a complete licence without having to wait for the two years to lapse.
Direct Access– Unrestricted Category A. So long as you are at least 21 years, with the CBT and theory test, you can undertake the practical test on a bike with 47bhp power output. You are given a chance to practise for your test on such a bike so long as you qualified Direct Access instructor accompanies you and put on fluorescent clothes every time. Once you pass this test, you will be able to ride any bike without L-plates and carry a passenger.
Lastly, it is imperative to note that if you fail the theory and practical test within a period of two years after passing the CBT, you will need to retake the CBT.
How AC Compressor Work?
Ningbo Anchor is the professional auto ac compressor manufacturer, we can offer you high quality and reliable service. Now let me introduce the abnormal noise of automobile air-conditioning compressors.
We can’t generalize about the problem of abnormal noise of automobile air-conditioning compressors, because abnormal noises are just performance, but there are many reasons for abnormal noises. Therefore, after abnormal noises of automobile air-conditioning compressors, we must first investigate and determine the cause Before finally finding a solution.
Let’s analyze the specific causes of abnormal noise of automobile air-conditioning compressors
Abnormal noise when the compressor is running mainly occurs in the cylinder and crankcase. The main causes of cylinder abnormal noise (knock sound) are:
1. The top of the piston collides with the exhaust valve, that is, the clearance is too small, and a “cylinder knock” phenomenon occurs. Can be increased by increasing the thickness of the gasket on the contact surface of the two
Large clearance to eliminate the “knock knock” phenomenon.
2. The valve plate of the suction and exhaust valve is damaged or broken due to serious wear, poor material and improper operation. Treatment method: replace the valve.
3. The piston ring is worn or stuck. Treatment method: replace the worn piston ring. Strengthen lubrication.
4. Compressor fluid knocking sound, crankshaft toggle, or the big head of connecting rod splashing oil produces “oil knocking” sound. Need to find out the reason and rule out immediately.
5. The tightening screw of the valve disc or the nut on the piston connecting rod is loose. Just tighten.
Analysis of the causes of abnormal noise in the compressor crankcase:
1. The gap between the connecting rod big-end bearing bush and the crank, and between the crank and the main bearing is too large, the gap should be adjusted, and the bearing bush should be replaced if necessary.
2. The amount of lubricating oil in the bearing is insufficient or impurities are mixed in the lubricating oil. Check the oil circuit, remove impurities or replace the lubricant.
3. The connecting rod nut is loose; treatment method: re-tighten.
4. The loose fit between the flywheel and the shaft requires readjustment or repair.
The abnormal noise of automobile air-conditioning compressor, in fact, there are many reasons for abnormal noise of automobile air-conditioning compressor.
It is recommended that you go to a professional location.
If it is only when the air conditioner is turned on, the possible causes are as follows:
Too much or too little refrigerant charge, the flow sound generated when passing the expansion valve; the amount of lubricating oil inside the compressor is small, and the friction caused by insufficient lubrication
Sound; the compressor produces abnormal sounds that resonate with other parts of the wheel system at a certain speed; the suction and exhaust pulses of the compressor itself are relatively large, and the generated pulses
The motion is transmitted to the air-conditioning box through the air-conditioning pipeline and amplified to produce abnormal sound.
